Shoe Box Ministry

Shoe Box Ministries is a positive and proactive way to help homeless people within our community. It allows us to show that we care and are thinking of those people around us that do not have shelter, food and common comforts. In youth group and Sunday school we often talk about what we can do to help those we see on the streets and corners as we are driving by. It sometimes leaves us feeling like we don’t know how to help, is handing money out the window helpful? Is it safe? Shoe Box Ministries gives all of us a way of showing our concern without feeling unsafe or giving money away when we are unsure how it will be used. This will be a continuing ministry in hope that it will create a proactive response in our youth as they grow into adults to always have a box in the car that can be given out the window or on the street when they see someone in need. That when we buy ourselves a new pair of shoes we might take a minute to raid the pantry and fill it with some items that might brighten another’s day when they need it most.
